At my local bomb/johnyrude dealer getting parts I ask them what they new. They said Harly Davidson is looking at picking up the omc/johnyrude line.
Richard

That's appropriate in a way, since Ole Evinrude helped Davidson get started.

If Harley Davidson buys, what would they call it...

Harley Johnson?

a Hog-arude?

Lowruder?

a V-Rude?

I believe it will be a positive step: Bomb's Rec Div was the most profitable, and the E-Tec engine sounds as though it's a next step in marine technology, so there should be several potential buyers willing to fork up the bucks. In the meantime, Johnyrudes are being marketed aggressively worldwide.
Bombardier's bankers have said the family will not receive favored status in the spin-off, so my big Johnson could well be re-painted JD yellow & green, or Harley crome and black....
I check with Boating Industry International online (http://www.boatbiz.com/index.asp) for daily boat news, and you can read the "gossip" there.
