Any polyester or glass filler will work with fiberglass, but it's not really meant for below the water line use. I'd use marine filler for that.
Bondo Glass or "Gorilla hair" as it's sometimes referred to, is made for filling or bridging gaps or voids, I'm not sure how much use it would have on a boat. In most cases if you need that kind of filling, you may be better off just using resin and mat.

i can only guess ....because its a bondo product.....its waxed.....

ok.....for what ive understood....if its on thick.....cover it with glass.....a layer of 1708.

if its thin......(paper thin) then its ok to cover...jiust sand the wax. off before you cover....

im using "poly fair" its got no strands....but its really tough stuff....

the easyest to make your self ........is....

we call it peanut butter......a mixture of cabosil, glass bubbles....and resin...

mixed to the desired consistancy....add milled fibers if you wish.....for the amount you want to use....this is the cheepest, best, way to go.

(any fairing compound will cost big money for the 2 oz's you will actually put on the boat)

cheers

I love the stuff! It's pretty easy to spread and dries like steel! Can be easily shaped with a grinder for the high stuff and a sanding wheel for precision sanding. Be CAREFUL with the hardener! A small 1" stripe for about 2oz of bondo glass... Very impressed with the stuff so far!! Check out my thread, I just got done with it... http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=246184&page=4
