Pretty common cheap folding seats. Not OEM and not the best. Boston Whaler never put seats on top of the thwart seats.

Avoid metal frame seats. The best have plastic frames that never rust or corrode. Check these out. They are on pedestals but would bolt to the thwart just as well. They are Navistyle from iboats.

THanks JB! I'm having some trouble finding the link. Can you post it? Woops nevermind I found it. Big selection very nice, but very confusing!!! I'm looking at something like this fold down:

Not sure which one is better for a whaler. Any suggestions are appreciated!! JB, is it even worth getting a chair? THe benches don't look comfy for long rides.

Actually, the benches with a cushion on top are quite comfortable, Markho. I used to use USCG approved throwable cushions.

I think the folding seats would get in the way when fishing, but I know a lot of people do that. It's a shame to hide all that glorious varnished mahogany. :)

I agree on the mahogony! I'm putting the proverbial cart before the mule. I haven't even driven the boat yet. I'll have to make a decision once I get in the boat and actually do some fishing. However, if you were to pick one that was foldable to get out of the way when needed, which one would you go with?

I would still go with the Navistyle, Markho. The overall image of a Boston Whaler is a skiff of yacht quality in materials and detail. I wouldn't want to put second class seats on one.
