Re: Boston Whaler - OMC Jet
I own an omc jet currently in a heavy guage aluminum jetcraft. It is relief to not worry about submerged objects, and in rivers, where you can read the water, it is a fun ride. If you consider a max speed of 35 fun??? You really have to be up to speed and planing to run the shallows anything less than 8" would be hazardous. My boat is a somewhat v-hull design and drafts at about 16" at idle.
The jet parts are harder to get every year and expensive so pay special attention to the drive condition. Other annoyances about the system are, no neutral and a higher idle speed making them a little harder to start as a result.
