does anyone have experience with a particular bottom paint and/or barrier coat (good or bad) I have a 1996 21.5' sea ray cuddy that has a clean bottom now but i plan on mooring it in fresh water. i will trailer the boat at least 3 times a season for trips or detailed cleaning.

some professionals in my area don't recommend the barrier coat while some do($$$). some fellow boaters do not recommend paint at all because of my cleaning schedule.

any input appreciated!

If the growth in your area isn't too bad I wouldn't paint the bottom at all. You could maybe change your haul-out schedule a little to accomadate any growth that does occur.

If the bottom isn't painted, and because you're going to be hauling it out frequently, I would use a barrier wax as opposed to paint. It's cleaner and should stand up to frequent launches

Regards
