Dave,

If you post the 2nd half of that post in the I/O forum, you will likely get the reply you are looking for.

Here is a link. http://forums.iboats.com/forumdisplay.php?f=21

Also, at the top of the IO forum, there is an "Adult's only Sticky" that is basically the Frequently Asked Questions for the IO forum (Adult only meaning they do not want kids on the forum, not that there is anything for mature audiences). In that sticky, there is a link that will take you to downloads for Mercruiser manuals (genuine factory manuals) for free. I suggest you download the one for your drive and engine if you do not already have one.

http://www.mercruiserparts.com/ This site will allow you to find parts using exploded views of the sterndrive or engine. I found it very helpful since I did not know the name of various things. Using that site, I could get the part # or find out the name of the part. I then ususally took that info to the local dealer to get what I needed.

Well, half of us looked at the thread based on the title (hoping to find some good stuff). But, I would guess a lot of people do not click on it thinking it is something "mature" in nature.

I did notice there is one now titled something like "info for DIYers" or something like that with the same info.
