Bottom paint question...

I currently have black paint on the bottom of the hull. Question is, I dont store the boat on the water, is there a cheaper alternative to black bottom hull paint? Can I use a good oil based or any other paint to make it look better? If so, which one do you recommend?

Sand it a bit and use marine rustoleum any color your heart desires.

2 quarts..... so it is probably cheaper by the gallon.

Or just take the paint off and leave the gel coat as the finish if its in good shape. No need for paint if you don't want it.

I dont want it, but it seems like it would be too much work to have the white paint stand out. It's a 20 yr old boat so there should be a few coats in there 2 quarts it is! Gotta order online because no one carries the Rust Oleum in stock and Im not about to pay $200 for a gallon...

I know Lowe's carrys rustoleum marine at there stores close to the water. I have one 3 miles from my house which does not but the one 35 minutes from me does.

i know you can also use interlux brightsides paint. if your not leaving it in the water, this will work just fine as well. i've got it on mine below the water line. i also don't leave it in the water.
