Hi there,

I have a 1989 Donzi Ragazza 23. It has a few old coats of black bottom paint that i want to remove. I want to use the Aqua Strip paint removal formula. I'vre ready good reviews about it and it is natural.

What are the Pros and COns of me doing this? should I worry about Gel Coat chips or cracks under the bottom paint? I have no need for the bottom paint as i store the boat on a trailer and would never keep in in the water for the season. The boat is in really good shape and it just looks hidious with the fading/chipping black bottom paint.

thanks,

Luke

I'd leave it; it doesn't show in the water and so what if it does. Or if it bothers you that much, paint over it.

To do it right, removing it is expensive if you hire someone and time consuming and dangerous if you do it yourself. You're also messing with an important surface, basically removing a protective layer.

Spend the money and time doing something fun on the boat; let the fish laugh at the bottom when you go over them.
