Just changed head gasket(another thread) and have improved appearance of bottom right plug(it was covered in salt deposits before gasket change). But that plug is still kinda dry looking when I checked it(boat sat overnight from running on Sunday). To compare I checked the port side bottom plug and it to is a little dry looking compared to top plugs. Boat runs great but are they washing off(do I have another leak, maybe exhaust cover gasket?)? Top plugs have a thin film on them, normal looking I assume. Noticed a little water under exhaust cover on starboard side and bottom bolts on the cover are rusting. Probably should pull it and change gasket, right?

If you have a cylinder water intrustion problem, that water will tend to wash the spark plug-give it a clean appearance. That could be mistaken for the plug running dry. Typically, plugs have an oily appearance to them as you noted on the other plugs. It is not ususual to have an exhaust cover leak. Not all external exhaust cover leaks are an indication that there is also an internal exhaust cavity water leak. Since you have that problem with the plug appearance on that one cylinder, I'd pull the exhaust covers and have a look. Water in the exhaust chest will mix with any unburned fuel and have a whitish appearance. Have you retorqued the exhaust cover bolts?

Havnt tried retorquing yet. I think I pull cover and check that. Also if it is a fuel issue(other side lower plug also looked "dry", I may swap carbs, upper for lower, and see if problem moves to upper plugs. If it does I know its a fuel deal.
