Worked for 10 years and all of a sudden after about 2 hours of use started to alarm. No indication of alarm. Immediately switched off unit. Turned on ok and few minutes will alarm and cannot be shut off at (on/off) knob. Disconnected power cable to shut off unit. Next day, tried again, same scenario - ok for 2 hrs and then started to alarm. Anyone has any idea. Wiring and cables ok. Transducer has hairline crack but that was there since day one. I do not have the manual anymore. Is it worth it to fix?

Not sure what you are asking about. Is it a fish finder, motor, what?<br /><br />If you did not learn anything today, you should have stayed in bed. <br /><br />

alexc,<br /> When the alarm goes off can you read how many volts the unit is receiving? My Bottom Line would do the same thing if my battery got low. I have since started running the new Eagle Fishmark 320 and the Fish easy 2 and can not believe how much better these units are than any Bottom Line I have ever had (4 different units.) If you can't solve your problem I'd suggest investing in a Fishmark 320(under $200). You'll be amazed how many fish are actually in the water you've never seen before. Be sure to turn off "fish I.D." and learn to read the arches. I've talked nine of my fishin' buddies into these units and every one has been more than happy with their performance, and most have been amazed! problem now is you can't find these units in the Denver area because they are sold out everywhere. OOPS! Think I may have shot myself in the foot. Let me know how it works out.
