bought a boat, steering retainer plate rusted away??

hey everyone,

I've just bought my first boat, and the plate which locates the steering cable in place at the rear of the boat, so that it can turn the out board, has rusted, and i cant seem to find what it's called to replace it!!?? any help please.

In the store they have parts http://www.iboats.com/Boat_Steering...5314414--**********.904946231--view_id.217127

The parts are listed as "corrosion resistant"

Could you remove your old one, sand prime and re-paint to save a few bucks?

thanks, i'll start looking now, and no i catn make a template from the old one because it's completely rusted away and left me. haha. thanks again
