20 foot boat.jpg

I just bought this boat, its a chrysler, its what I wanted, center console , lots of open deck etc.
Does anyone know what model it is?

I've seen a 15 ' version , same design hull called a commando,
but mine is 20'.

I plan to put sweat into the boat and cash into an engine.

I pick it up next week, have to do balljoints on the E350 first, yuk.

Any help with the boats name would assist my tracking down info on it.
Thanks.

Re: bought a boat

Look through the posts in the Chrysler/Force Engine Section. I found a post that had a link to a Chrysler Boat site but did not Bookmark it. Wish I had. I am a big MOPAR nut. I really like the look of your boat. Good luck with the resto. I look forward to seeing more pictures.

PS just did ball joints tie rod ends and axle shaft u joints on my 2500 Dodge CTD. I don't envy you one bit in that job.

Re: bought a boat

Breaking the ball joints loose was the easiest part for me. Getting the hub bearing assembly loose was a bear, pressing in and out the joints was fun and getting the drivers side axle joint apart was a nightmare. Two of us sledgehammering it for an hour. As soon as I figured out one trick to make it go easier something else got sticky.

Good luck with that. Can't wait to see more of your boat.

We ran it a few times last yr until the transom started to fail, so I cut the deck off and did the stringers and seacasted the transom, glassed the molded deck back on and gave it a splash of paint. New bilge pumps, new plumbing and marine electrical wiring.
Worked on it all summer, built a T-top from EMT.
Total repair cost around $1000, T-top cost less than $250.

All in all the hull runs good, a bit of splash at speed if you pound the waves otherwise solid runner.
My buddy is coming up from FL for the fall run on cape cod so I'll be splashing it for the first time this yr next week.:D

Pics below..
chainsawed the old transom out the top.
Built a splashwell. 1994 Johnson 150.
Deck liner cut away. Bought a new/used 50 gal alum tank for $100 ,craigslist.
Also picked up a johnson 10hp kicker for $120 and someone gave me a transom mount for it.
