The seller, (still) hasn't looked at the car since the night he was sh!tfaced and wreaked it, I don't think he knows how bad the damige really is. <br /><br />When I was telling him how much it needed, I told him "I woudln't give you more then $500 for this thing" and he didn't say anything.<br /><br />This unsurance company will give him book value, around 1,000 and scrap it.

Sorry to hear the news Ryan! Every young man needs a ride like that one. I had a few in my days (note to self - what do you mean by that? You still drive big old "land boats").<br /><br />Keep looking around, if you look long and hard enough, you can still find cherry rides. Shucks, 3 years ago I found a 10 year old Bonneville that had 17,000 miles on it (I sold it to the little old lady new, right after her husband died, and then did the service work on it - what little there was). Still come across vehicles like that from time to time, so don't get discouraged and keep beating the bushes, you never know what you will find there.

When I told my shop teacher today (auto body shop).<br /><br />This afternoon he told me he talked to the electrical teacher, who has a caddy for sale.<br /><br />He wants $1500 for it, says I can take to the shop, put it on the lift or whatever to look at it.<br /><br />Its a early 90's (one of the last year for the old box body). Its a Fleetwood Brome, not a coupe.<br /><br />Its not as sharp looking as the coupe, its brown with the fake rag top, I think it had brown interior, too. I may give it a look, but being such a un-attractive looking car it will have to be in pretty nice condition for me to buy it.<br /><br />We'll see, still would have loved to have that pretty Coupe Deville.
