With the lower unit Off,........

Stick your garden Hose into the In-line from the outdrive, At the T-Stat Housing.......
That'll Back Flush that much of the system,+ That Where the pieces Should be........

Since apparently 1/2 of my exhaust shudder is gone, will backflushing the system as described possibly dump water into my exhaust/engine or is it far enough apart?

No........

The Flushing I described will Only flush the In-bound side of the Cooling System..........
Hopefully,.... That'll flush out the remaining bits of Broken Impeller.......

The Flapper Valves live inside the top of the Exhaust Y-pipe.........
These share Nothing in common.......

I added the part about the Outdrive only for future reference,.... It'll shift With the controller at this point.......
With the propshaft, as long as there is tension (towards the bow) put on the threaded propshaft,

No,.......
Not Forward to the Bow........
It's Rotational Pressure Against the Forward Gear...............

Again, forgive me, but connect the garden hose to the side of the Tstat that goes back into the water pump or the part that connects on the opposite side? Just trying to cover all my bases... I'm determined to get this thing running today!

Just got back from the lake - Spent 2 hours out just putting around.

THE IMPELLER WORKS! NO MORE OVERHEATING!

Thanks to everyone for their help!

Now I just need to get the thing tuned up and idling right... then the tilt/trim rams... They aren't working at all.
