I'll have more pics at a later date but i have tons of questions and I'm ready for suggestions.

It is a 89 and has super low hours, the motor is mint and runs great.

The live well aerator doesn't work, the trim indicator doesn't work, the trim pump slowly leaks down, and it has a 25" motor on it o_O

o yeah it chine walks enough to wake the dead lol i bet the 25" motor doesn't help that any

Re: Bought my first Ranger today.... 365V

IT seems that the 25" motor on it shouldnt be there......the fins and cavatation plate are 3" or so underwater at 40 mph it will run 50 mph WOT trimmed flat.... when i add trim to it it picks up 8 or so...

I'll be removing the lower unit this week to replace the water pump so ill know if this motor was assembled using 5" extensions or if the drive shaft and shift shaft needs to be replaced or cut down to make it a proper 20" motor

If this motor has a 25" shift shaft will i need to remove the powerhead to switch it out?

Can't answer any of your questions, but just wanted to say congrats on the boat! I have almost the same outboard as you. Its a Mariner magnum 150. Comparing pics, you can clearly see the difference in the length near the base of the engine. Mine had a jack plate on it when I bought it, but I have been using it the way its set up.

Anyhow, congrats on the boat!

Its a 1985 Mariner Magnum 150. It was converted from oil injection to pre-mix by the previous owner. Boat is a 17.5 ft 1985 350V

Prop pitch 23 - fairly sluggish coming out of the hole, but once it lays over making up for lost time is no issue ;).

RPM @ WOT is around 5400-5500 rpm's

Speed - not sure...lol Speedo is not working, but previous owner said he was getting 65 - 67 mph GPS. Seems kinda high to me though.

I would really like to see that for myself. Might have to borrow someones handheld gps, or fix my speedometer to test that. Was also considering going to a 21 or 22 pitch prop to improve the hole-shot, but I can live with it the way it is now I think.
