First time I shopped here on I boats. Got a keel gaurd. And a trim toggle switch part # 3856844. Prices were descent. But the keel gaurd was 20$ cheaper an Amazon. My trim switch seems a little worn out and sloppy so I'm going to ng to change it out with a new one. My boat is back at the boat storage. And I haven't got to take a good look at how the switch comes out. Can any drop some knowledge on me on how this
Part changes out. I read one thread that said its basically 2 screws and
I'll need a soldering gun. Sound easy . Is this correct?? And is there any tricks to installing the keel gaurd. Other than follow directions. I got the 6 footer, hopefully it's long enough.

Oh and also , my local marine mechanic told me to only fill the outdrive oil until it starts to show on dip stick. If it's filled to its full mark I can blow outdrive seals dew to expanding oil from heat. So give room for oil expansion. Is this what you guys have found.?? Thanks fellers.

The SX drive is really easy to fill correctly. Take off the prop and you'll see the drain/refill hole. Remove the dipstick and the sight screw on the starboard side of the drive near the top. Pump in lube from the bottom up until it comes out the sight screw hole, then close everything up.

Toggle switch was easy to replace. 2 screws and it was solderd on. But I just cliped the wires and use some small push crimps. To rewire switch. And coated it with liquid tape. Wish I would have watch a utube vide on keel guard install. I got in bit of a hurry ""as always "" and got it a bit crooked about the last 2 feet or so. And there is no way to pull this thing
Back off.
