Hi

To put on water my 1997 Bayliner Capri 2050 CZ the hoist suspend the boat using the original Bow and Stern eyes which has 3/8 x 3”.

The original dimensional 3/8 is enough to hang up this boat with 2400 Weight? Is safe? After these years should I reinforce the Bow eyes?

Thanks, Almeida

15 years ago I had a 27 1/2' Bayliner Victoria (flybridge). One time as I was having it lifted off the trailer (triple axle) the bow eye broke. Fortunately the boat was only about 3" off the trailer so no damage. Be sure to check for rust in the eyes themselves and the fastening hardware.

I wouldn't trust them, use slings.

I have to agree with Boomyal. Those eyes weren't designed for lifting. They are for securing the boat to a trailer. If you're going to lift the boat you use lifting slings.
