Re: Bow eye

Should be pretty easy to have one welded to the tube, the problem would be getting one but that is such a common part really anyhting you get shoudl be fine so go to your nearest dealer that sells pontoons and have them order you a couple, they proabably have a good welder they use too.

Re: Bow eye

Depending on your forward deck, you may be able to install a couple of stainless U bolts through the deck at a crossmember location.

Re: Bow eye

I have them on the toons already but want to put one on the center so I can hook my winch to it.

You will want that eye under the deck. A common method is to place a peice of aluminum between the front two cross members and put the eye on this peice of metal. This will distribute the forces between the two front crossmembers.

The aluminum should be about 1/4" thick and bolted to 2 crossmembers like EGliderider suggested. Here's pic of how mine is mounted..

Re: Bow eye

my ol toon had a hole in the front molding on the bow anyway so i just put a big stainless steel I bolt through it, though my trailer is harsh on the ol eyes it pulls really good amd the bolt hold pretty good plus i have a place to tie it off on when we get to a bank or where we camp and i dont have to mess with something under the boat when we tie off

Re: Bow eye

I put a big eye bolt in the top front of the center. And I backed it up with a piece of 2x6 so it wouldn't brake loose. The wood is screwed and glued to the plywood decking underneigth
