Bow Light Appears to be shorted

My bow light isn't working. I removed the bulb, and put a DMM on the poles. and the contacts seem to be shorted together regardless of the position of the bow light switch. I have the battery disconnected. I also tried to put the ignition in different positions to see if there is a connection made in there, but still shorted out. It is really odd. Suggestions? The white round light works fine in both positions (weather on alone or on when the bow light should be on). is it truly a short or am I missing something?

Thanks!

Re: Bow Light Appears to be shorted

Disconnect the bow light at the switch and measure resistance between the feed to the light and ground with the bulb removed. If it still shows a short, then either the socket is bad or the wiring going to the light is shorted to ground. Perhaps a screw has pierced the wire or it was pinched somewhere.
