I would like to use my 41# big foot bow mount on the transom of my 18' lapstrake runabout. [Chetek] I understand I will have to reverse the tiller and mount. But do I need to change props. or can I reverse the current one. [ it is a weed safe type]
Does anyone know of a diagram?
I would try to trade it but it is kind of ugly. seems to work O.K.

you do not reverse or change the prop.... you simply tunn the head (top) of the unit so that the handle points forward while the prop points backward..... done

Thanks. Looking at the propellor I had imagined it would be turning backwards. If that is not the case. it Simplifies things. Now I Just have to get a transom clamp or adapt.

Just curious but why would you go from a bow mount to a transom mount since bow mounts are far more effective for boat control -- especially when the wind comes up.

I would have to guess the motor has never been mounted to his boat, and there is no easy way to mount it on the bow.
