OK. I have a boat with a high bow rail. The type of fishing I do most I end up needing a trolling motor to keep from having to start and stop the motor all the time. I am not sure what I can do other than put one on the transom, which I really dont want to do.

With a little creative engineering you can put one on the bow, troypolla.

Here is a Minn Kota PDAP 55 mounted on my Boston Whaler Montauk.

My bow rail is not quite that high JB. I do see the space you have up there though. My problem is the rail is about 10-12 inches high and hugs the curve of the front of the boat. here is a link to the company web site

Here is a link to a pic of the bow.
anything short of cutting a hole in the rail.

Sorry for the large size.

I even Called my local Key west dealer and he told me that this boat was not engineered to have a bow trolling motor any way, and he has no idea of how to get one up there other than taking the rail off. I guess transom 24v is the way to go.

cut the rails 1 inch in front of the upright, and put a cap on it. mount a motor guide wireless control up there. i've go a W 45 and love it, i don't use the foot control, i use the key fob. give me complete and trip free movement in the boat.

If money is not a prob...I would just go with the transom mounted ones. A friend of mine has them and loves them!
