Hi ya my friend, you got a problem here mate, all the advice given on here is top line and you can be assured that the answer to your problem lays within these words of wisdom. Having got the same boat I have to say that I have never experienced this problem, even when running my old 40hp Mercury Red Band, holeshot was good and she rode on the last 2/3ft of the hull, stayed stable at WOT but became unstable (hit and miss steering) at about half throttle. Now I have the Johnson with PT & T it helps sort even that out.
Cheers mate, good luck with your quest.

Nos, as the others have said, trim the motor out another hole and try it. If trimmed out to run properly on plane, the foil should not be in the water. At the very worst, it would be right at the waterline. When I put my foil on, I had plowing and had lost speed until I trimmed out one more hole (I too have no power trim). Definately look at your weight distribution, although there may not be much that can be done, considering the style of boat. Good luck...

Thanks guys! I'll leave the foils on and trim her out one pin next time out then, and take the foil off if that don't work then. Looks like I'm gonna get quite wet as I can't quite reach anything from aboard...lol :)

Another consideration:

Every pound you move from front to rear has double effect as you at the same time remove it from one end and add to the other

Try one hole first, then try two, etc. until the boat starts to porpoise (bow rythmically bouncing up and down) or it takes too long to get on plane. I am not a fan of the add on fins, but work on one variable at a time. You can always then remove the fin and try the various trim setting again. Find the combination that works best for you.

Good luck.
