Re: Bowl Gasket - Quick Question

Hard to say scuda. If there are any burrs try gently removing them. Maybe try a thin coat of removable permatex there. Mark the outside of the carb with a sharpie magic marker and see if gas is leaking out at that spot. The last time I rebuilt mine it said the inverted measurement waa 13/32 inch. When I set it to this I could not get the needle to set. I set it to 1/2 inch and that has worked well for me.

Thanks Euro, I think I got it in there ok.

What I am having a terrible time with however, and I hope I don't need a new thread for this, but I am putting my starter back in the bracket and lining up the LONG bolts is no fun! I was stupid and didn't take pics, do I go through the THREADED holes in the top of the bracket or no?

Thanks for all the help!

Yes the long screws for the starter go through the threaded holes on the bracket. Just make sure the positive starter lug is facing forward on the motor.
