brakes

I have an 86' dual axel trailer w./ I think surge brakes . The problem is the trailer push forward but I do not think the brakes are working it really seems to push my old truck (76') . Any way of testing the brakes on the trailer or working them over thaey are drum brakes from what I can tell.

Check the fluid level in the master cylinder. If its empty or low, and full of rust and scale you will need to replace it. Chances are the brake units on each wheel are in an equal state of disrepair as well. All the parts are available on-line or at any farm store.
