Brand new trim sensors ... how to set em?

So, a few issues going on but overall, I am thrilled to have new wires and sensors.

Trim DOWN on throttle works fine. Trim UP does not. Using Trailer button works for UP. Me thinks the mechanic forgot to re-establish the ground wire (even tho I mentioned it prior to the work, ergh.). So, trim up worked for a bit after the work was done ... then it didn't, then it did work, now ... it doesn't. If that makes sense?@! I think without the ground, something shorted out (or maybe there is a trip fuse somewhere?)

Anyhow, I think I can find the ground wire and connect it ... back inside the transom / rear engine compartment ... last year I saw a bare wire cut and screwed. I think that's the one. Any advise on how to locate and connect this ground?? Or am I chasing up the wrong tree?

Second, if I get the trim UP and DOWN working, how is a person supposed to set those limits?? In the water, you kinda know where you want to be. But you can only turn the screws when your outta water ... and then you sorta don't know where you want to be?

And finally, I'm not sure if the trim down all the way ... is down all the way. How can I confirm that? Last trip, the boat seemed to have more struggle getting onto plane.

It has nothing to do with a ground. The limit stops the limit switch to stop working. This is done so you don't trim up to high when running. Note the Blue/White and Purple/White connections
