I am putting a new set of anodes on my Bravo 1 drive. I can’t get this one to lay flat. The anode is flat, I checked with a straight edge. I have bottom paint on my drive, I thought that might be the problem so I sanded it down and it helped a little bit (this picture was before) but there is still a gap. The front edge (towards front of boat) makes full contact but the back half (portion to the rear of boat) is still up a bit. I can’t remember if the old one laid flat or not. Is this an issue? Will it be less effective not making full contact?

Under the plate? Every one I have seen was always on top. A quick google search showed the same thing. The bottom paint is copper free so it’s outdrive safe.

Mine is on top. I would have to look at mine closer to know if there is a gap.
