Been looking on eBay at Bravo 1 transom plates. Are all transom plates the same for the different years? I was looking at 1995-2006 plates. Some listings are Bravo 1,2,3.

Transom plates could be, would need to look closer, but the Transom Assemblies are not

Thanks, I was just asking as I have a Gen 2 Alpha transom plate and contemplating getting a Bravo 1 outdrive assembly.

Yes they both share the same part number and where used description.
(Mercruiser 8M0138839 Inner Transom Plate Inner Bravo and Alpha superseded from 8M0114816 Plate Assembly Transom)

Though probably not significant changes for what you're doing 'bear in mind that they do mention in the notes that there is now a "design" change of number 1 design, design 2 & D 3 as noted when looking at item numbers 1 from both the Alpha and Bravo parts catalog linked below for you,

Thanks, I see they use different shift cables. I will have to see if the marina I use has the proper set up for a Bravo 1. Right now I have an Alpha 1 gen 2 transom assembly. I was looking at a Bravo 1 as a more robust drive.
