I have what I believe is a new style bravo 3 (Seriel# 0w967086) that the upper gears are shot. There are grooves worn into the inside of the case and I am not sure if it is rebuildable. I have found the old style remanufactured uppers online saying they fit years 1995-2018, same thing with their lower units.

I have read that pretty much all of your standard bravo uppers are interchangeable, but does that apply between the new and old style too? Will the remanufactured older style upper bolt to my lower?

95 and newer for the most part yes. Things were changed in both the upper and lower of the bravo drives to improve reliability. In 95 is when the extension piece removed for the B3 and became a one piece lower housing.

With the upper being damaged, the lower should be disassembled and inspected for damage

Here is what to look for so far as compatibility

Is the 95+ the intermediate style on that chart? From what I could find online my style outdrive was about 2008+. The swept back bravo 3.

And I know the lower needs disassembled and cleaned. I was planning to have my marina do it. I would do it myself if all of the tools weren't so expensive.

Your lower is No 6, and the upper should be No 5
The 95+ upper should be like No 5

Listed pics so you know what to look for

Unable to see enough to determine other then it appears to have a slotted hole for the lift cylinders. This would put it as a later model

I didnt even look at that part. I know mine has the slotted holes. But it looked like the oil hole was in the front like mine, although i could be looking at a different hole. I emailed the company with my serial number to see if they think it will work.

Could also try OSO in their wanted section for a used/rebuilt one. Those guys run through drives like crazy. A few run shops and have them stacked up like Sick Stinger
