Has anyone ever dealt with a gear oil fill screw that it frozen / seized and starting to strip ?
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

An impact screwdriver with a little bit of heat ought to help you get it out before it becomes to late.

6 Bit Impact Screwdriver Set With Case 37530 alternate photo #1

Product Overview
Break loose rusty or frozen screws and bolts with ease using this hard-hitting impact screwdriver. Tap the impact screwdriver's handle with a hammer and get quick rotational force necessary for loosening stuck fasteners. Grip is flared to protect hand from overstrikes.

+1... Impact screwdrivers are amazing. I have the HF model above, used it a couple of weeks ago for a seized gear lube screw on an alpha

My impact screwdriver stays on the shelf right by the filters and lower unit oil. It should be a required tool to touch those drain plugs!

And no, do NOT use an electric/pneumatic impact. Impact screwdrivers benefit from the force of the hammer driving it into the screwhead. You WILL strip it out if you use a power impact.
