I have a '98 B3 that has leaked a small amount of lube out the bearing carrier exhaust port just forward of the props. Which seal is most likely to let this happen? The prop shaft seals are not leaking.
Thanks in advance

could be the bearing carrier oring or the lower to upper oring. not much else that will leak gear lube into the exhaust cavity on a bravo unit.

Re: Bravo 3 oil leak

Thanks rodbolt. Those are the only things I could see in the diagram.....unless cracked housing.
Does the rear gear come out with the bearing carrier or will it stay in the housing? Looks like it should stay.
When we get it out we'll see if we can feel any lube up in the exhaust cavity above the carrier. That should tell us if that upper O ring is bad.
Feel free to correct any errors in my thinking.

if all you remove is the aft carrier and not the outer shaft bearing carrier you really cannot see or do anything other than replace the outer seal and the oring on the fwd end of the carrier.
