Bravo 3 prop nuts

Need some help with which side of the nut goes toward the lower unit. Manual shows the diagram but just doesn’t look right to me - tapered side on the outside. Is that correct?

Good question, but no . . .



There should be a plastic ring in the outer part of the nut, which is like a 'nylock' nut. That should be facing away from the lower unit. The beveled side goes toward the propeller it is securing (i.e. the lower unit), so that it along with the beveled collar sleeve are centering the prop on the shaft - front & back.

Thanks Ted. Yea I Googled it and found a video showing the correct way. The diagram in the manual just had me scratching my head. Thanks again!
