Just had a new bravo 3 installed. (1990 7.4l 454 mag engine). The trim seems to go up and down fine when i am stopped or moving slowly. When i open it up it seems to me that its not doing anything. Is that possible? Would i definitely notice the drive being trimmed while underway? I see no change when i tilt all the way up and all the way down. Then when i stop to check it again it seems to work fine. Any ideas???

Re: Bravo 3 trim question

You will definitely see the difference when you trim under way just looking at the rpms at the engine and in the water after the boat. Sometimes if you have a voltage instrument installed, you might see that the trimpump is taking amps from the batteries. Your shore that you don't have any problems
with the trimlimit switch?

Nope, not sure. All I know is that I just had a brand new bravo 3 installed, along with new trim sender and trim limit switches. The drive definitely trims up and down at the dock and when underway at low speeds.

Re: Bravo 3 trim question

when I take off to get on plane- the trim & tabs all the way in- at 3000RPM I trim up a little and the bow comes up atleast 2 feet and the rpms speed up-towards 4000RPM- I drop back to 3500RPM and trim the tabs & trim up and the boat comes fully on plane. then I adjust to my liking.

if you can not tell a differnce something is not right.

BTW I love the 7.4 BIII!
