Bravo I Prop On Alpha one drive

Someone is giving me a Bravo I 4 blade 17 pitch prop. I was wondering if you can use this on an Alpha I outdrive. I have Crownline 210 LS with a 5.0 MPI (260 HP), with a 3 blade 21 pitch. When I used Mercruisers prop selector, it recommended a 4 blade 17 pitch for the better acceleration I'm looking for.

The Bravo One and Alpha one drives use the same props so yes they can inter change. I my self have done this by buying a prop for my alpla drive and then actually used it on bravo. In fact if you look on this website for props under the Alpha and Bravo you will see much of the same props on both lists.

Now the 4 blade will possibly give you better exceleration but lower your top speed.

going from 21p to 17p is a BIG jump and may wind up not doing anything good for you.

What are your #'s with the 21p? You may want to drop only maby 1 or 2 inches at a time in pitch if your close to your motors WOT specs. 17 may be too little pitch for a boat that big. Are you running aluminum or Stainless? I put a SS on my ski boat the same size as what the aluminum was and it increased my whole shot imensly, not to mention top seed gained 5 mph. ( speedometer not GPS reading )

For instance Im running a 23p on my 18 footer and a 21p on my 28 foot cruiser. A 17 would kill me as I suspect it may do more harm then good for your speed and hole shot.


A free prop is a free prop and wost case is it will help you get your #'s dialed in for WOT of both props and tell you what your next step should be. Good Luck

I'm running stainless, and this weekend I was running 54 mph at 5000 rpm. My WOT is 4600 to 5000, so I'm right on with the 21 pitch. I want a better hole shot, so that's why I want the 4 blade. He has a 19 pitch blade he offered me as well, so i guess i can go with that.
