I have a 1996 5.7 mercruiser with a bravo II outdrive my guestion might not have a answer but im going throw it out there. How many hours or years before changing a coupler? i changed it about 4 years ago because it stripped out. i have about 600 hrs on the new one but recently have a bad vibraton on sharp turns, also some kind of clicking up at high rpm's. this is a big coupler and is very pricey. Im going to pull the motor and outdrive to inspect all this winter. Also was put in with alignment tool, dead on. thanks

Coupler could last indefinitely, problem you have is misalignment, usually from worn-out mounts, can be mounts at stringers and/or bushings at transom mount, alignment needs to be done with alignment tool. Mark

Vibration at a sharp turns and clicking could indicate some warn or tight u-joints as well.
