I have a 350 MAG MPI Horizon Bravo II with an aluminum prop. Will keep it in a slip in salt water from May to October. Is it recommended to paint the outdrive with bottom paint? I think Interlux makes a special paint (no copper) for aluminum outdrives. Any advice? What about trim tabs? Should they be coated also?

best advice I can give you is after all is said and done have the mercathode system tested in your slip in accordance to the service manual to insure the system is working and galvanic corosion is not occuring. some bravo units had corrosion issues

And if it is salt water you WILL have to paint it, or else you will have a barnicle farm in there! The only thing being sold for aluminum is Trilux, you have to use their Primocron barrier coat first, then the Trilux goes over that. My experience with salt water and the tin based antfouling (Alumaspray) is that they rarely will last a whole season here in Long Island, you will start getting growth around August and it is recommended to pull the boat and re-spray it or else the pivot housing will get packed up with barnicles, as the paint is ablative and wears off with use.
