Bravo II will not trim down

I just got the boat about two weeks ago, haven’t put in the water jet…today I noticed that drive will not trim down, when I hit the trim down switch I can hear the pump but the drive doesn’t move, fluid level is good. Could the drive be stuck in the trim/trailer-up position (I trailer the boat home), this boat sat on davits for over two years, so it never had to be trailer and the drive was never raised to trailer. Is there a way to trim drive manually…any ideals welcome….it’s a 1994 Bravo II

Thanks

Al
Miami, Fl

Re: Bravo II will not trim down

Have someone run the trim down while you jump on the drive.
Many times people run the drive all the way up and lets the trim pump build up max pressure and just let it set. Then the valves in the pump have a tendency to get stuck.
Next time you put the drive up and it hits max up, just hit the down button to relieve the excess pressure. Drive may only go down 1/16" but the high pressure and stress on the system is gone.

Problem fixed, thanks again…..now I noticed that the trim-up doesn’t work but the trailer switch does. Been doing some reading/searching looks to be the trim limit switch, seems a quick fix is to bypass trim-up switch…where is the best place to tap into the wires to bypass the switch, which wires should I be looking for...thanks.

Look on the Inside of the transom,.... There'll be 2 pairs of Black wires,.......

Somewhere along they're length, they'll join with the rest of the trim circuits with Bullet Connectors.......

Just Switch the Connectors........... ;)

Hey Bondo

I switched the connector like you mentioned but it's all the same, trailer switch works but the trim will not trim-up. Is there another way to bypass the switch.

Thanks

Not sure the reason for switching wires. One is a sender, the other is a switch and the operate on a different principal.
The trailer button doesn't go thru either one of them.
So instead of blindly switching wires, try some basic troubleshooting.
Here is a link to the Bravo OEM service manual.
http://www.boatfix.com/merc/Servmanl/11/11covr5x.pdf

Go to section 1C and there is complete details on how to test the system. Along with wiring diagrams.
Here is a direct link to section 1-C
http://www.boatfix.com/merc/Servmanl/11/11c1r5x.pdf

EDIT: Just re-read that you want to bypass the swic. Just locate the switch wires inside the boat disconnect the switch and connect the wires on the boat side together. Then the trim will work with the up button
