i bought a new one last spring for the 230. it didn't come with zirks.
i had both drives on the 2000 310 pulled and serviced this spring and nether of them had zirks either
all are BIII's and if memory serves there arnt any zirks to grease the gimbal bearing on the out side of the transom either
the shop that did the service on the 310 said they could install after market u-joints with zirks but factory replacements wouldn't have them.
Do all Bravo 3s have a sealed u joint??... mine is 0F* 96').
Yours had a grease fitting when it left the factory. Much newer Bravos don't, but back in 96 your did.
And it probably has a fitting for the gimbal bearing too. Sealed gimbals are something that is just coming to be in the past couple years. But in 1996 it was a greaseable bearing.
I dont think an all original B3 from 96 would run so smooth. But maybe it is...
The gimbal fitting I have been hitting every 10 hours or so.
