I need to replace my trim Rams on my 1990 bravo one drive. My Rams have stamped on them 98703, 98704. I've noticed that there are part numbers out there like 98703a26.... Etc on them. Do I necessarily have to have 98703?

It is best to work from the serial number of your outdrive to find the exact part number for the trim cylinders, then track the replacements over the years. Several of the mercruiser parts sites can be a good starting point to find the original part and then look for any "replaced by" notations.

A quick update . . . Looking it up, I get the originals as the A17 version and current is the A26 as you mentioned.

Having replaced those on my Merc 7.4 a while ago, I found the GLM and or Sierra aftermarket parts to be an OK alternative to the more expensive Mercruiser trim cylinders.

Taking a guess, of course, at your serial number, based on 1990 model year . . . .
