hi, im geting the engine installed,the michanic changed the bearings,new rings and pistons ,and valveseals,and a goob 4 main block .he said that he also changed the 1.7ratio aluminum rockers to stainless rockers ? i also noticed that the water jackets were silver ,should thise water jackets be brass/copper? WHAT RPM SHOULD THE ENGINE RUN AT. and for how long .i need to do this engine thing right.the new 1410 edelbrock carb is being re jeted the mechanic bought the kit with the rods,springs and jets.i hope thats the end of the gas in oil. WHAT PLUGS SHOULD I USE, AND WHAT SIZE GAP...thanks

Sounds to me like you have a decent engine guy building this thing for you. Since he is doing the work and seems knowledgible why dont you follow his recommended breakin method. So far it seems he has made some decent changes/recommendations (accept for the solid lifters). The 4 bolt mains are a good example as well as the stainless rockers. 1.7, you're getting some big lift!!! I hope all of the clearances are OK but I am sure he knows this. I think he is also doing a good job of spending your money too, though.
