Calif. sues 6 carmakers in global warming suit

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - California filed a global warming lawsuit on Wednesday against Ford Motor Co., General Motors Corp., Toyota Motor Corp. and three other automakers, charging that greenhouse gases from their vehicles have cost the state millions of dollars.

This country is going flipping crazy!. The auto companies are fighting for their lifes and some bozo politicians who need more money for their feel good social programs want to dig the grave. :|

We have MAYBE 100 years of real data. We're predicting global climate based on that?

That's lunacy. Yet, we place all of or cards on a few "eggheads" from some University, (working on a government grant, with an agenda) to figure out what is going on.

I bring a few points.

1. What happened to the dinosaurs? We're "clueless". Speculation aside, we have NO idea.

2. 100 years of data on a planet that is over so many biliion years old? Come on!

3. Purely agenda driven. Why is that only "Emerging" countries signed "Kyoto"? I'll tell you why. They want what we got and we're handing it to them is spades.

All that aside. I've been around awhile. The rivers/streams/lakes (US) are the cleanest of any country that is even halfway industrialized. I remember not swimming in a certian the river because it was polluted. Not anymore. It's as clean as a whistle.

Why do we (Americans) think we are the cause of such world pollution?

One word-GUILT.

By the way, CA has one of the most liberal (San Diego County-aside) legislatures in the US.

A reply to this post that is certainly not out of character. But then, who's surprised. It's the left that all this goofy chit is coming from.

Once again they have cleverly disguised their true intent by cloaking their quest for power and money with a lofty sounding reason.

I agree.

Who will pay for this? The purchasers of new cars, or the workers for car companies when they all go out of business?

Can the government sue itself for not regulating the amount of cars able to be registered in Calif? If they knew cars cause global warming, why didnt they ban them years ago?

It's the fossile fuels that the cars are burning that are causing the "problem"... why don't they sue Exxon? Or OPEC, or that 16 year old kid at the gas station selling fuel. Wouldn't that make him a "dealer". Oh, wait, he ain't got no money. Exxon it is then!
