Chalk up another in the IT AIN"T GONNA WORK column. been there....tried that...about three feet is all you're gonna get. plus it's really difficult to keep a seal on the hose with your mouth.

there are devices for that but you really should take a scuba course and get certified. it isnt expensive and it will show you the dangers and flaws in that idea. i think your better off snorkling. a few days of it and you can easily get your breath holding to nearly 2 minutes. i used to snorkel a lot and was scuba certified with a scuba set and while scuba diving was cool i did far more snorkling than i ever did scuba. just so much hassle to scuba as compaired to snorkling.

Snorkeling is much easier, and in most cases, you can see about just as much from the surface. But you don't get that special feeling snorkeling.
It is almost a weightless feeling when you are neutrally bouyant.

Yeah a Hookah is what you need to do that. My buddy has one and we use it from time to time to check out the bottom of our boats because we keep them moored in saltwater. The hose thing doesn't work if you go deeper than a couple of feet.
