The aggressively photogenic John Edwards was cruising along, detailing his litany of liberal causes last week until, during question time, he invoked the "I" word — Israel. Perhaps the greatest short-term threat to world peace, Edwards remarked, was the possibility that Israel would bomb Iran's nuclear facilities. As a chill descended on the gathering, the Edwards event was brought to a polite close.

Really? Israel is the biggest threat? Not Ahmedinijad? Not al-Qaeda? Not a coup attempt in Pakistan? Not a complete breakdown in Iraq drawing in the Saudis, Turks, and Iranians?

I think the American public is much smarter than this. The Dems, and the media have created this fictionalized world in which we are all doomed unless we go their way.... believe all of what they espouse, and put our BS detectors on standby.

I don't agree Boom, the Democrats have painted a picture for defeat in Iraq that will come back and bite them in "the end"

There was no mandate for pulling out as the Dems like to bandy about, just for the "dissatisfaction" for the way the war was going... nothing more.

The Democratic party has blow this all out of proportion, and based their whole future upon the notion that we, as the American People, want to lose, and “cut and run”.

That is not what the people in this country are about, and when it’s said and done, the anti-war crowd will slime right back into the holes they came out of.

Sure hope your right Crunch. It would be good to know that we actually have the will to finish something we start, (when we were attacked in the first place). I know the Libs would lecture me that: Iraq is only to inrich Hallaberton based on expert mind readin' n' we must actually throw all our efforts into poundin' sand in Afganistan. Our opponents know there is a large well funded following here in the states that wish to bestow defeat so we would never use force again under any circumstances. They prevailed in the early to mid 1970s and never were properly put down, IMHO. Their poster child, (PUKE Kerry), got more votes then any Democrat in history; so I for one: am worried that enough of us have lost the will or forgotten history to the extent that we need to really suffer a set back to muster the political power to overcome the enemy within and find the will we used to have to win.
