I am thinking of purchasing a briggs 5 hp motor for use in powering a sailboat. I like the fact that it is inexpensive and 4 stroke. Would like any comments you would have on the motors.<br /><br />thank you <br />Jim
2 biggest drawbacks are, shortshaft only, and fit and finish equivalent to a lawn mower. Most that have them, like them. I would like to see one with a long shaft, and electric start.
