Briggs & Stratton Intek 190 6HP - Flooding

I just replaced the carb on my power washer unit and for some reason it is flooding. I opened up the bowl and the float seems to be operational. The set up with the throttle springs wants to have the carb wide open at all times, so it seems that unless it starts right away, the next thing I know there is gas dripping out of the carb. When I shut it down I need to turn off the fuel supply or else fuel continues to flow. Any suggestions on what to look at?

Normally, new floats need to be adjusted to the correct level. Often, a similar procedure will work for most applications. Flip the carb over and see where the float hangs. It should be about level with the carb to bowl flange. If it's hanging down into the carb, the float level is set too high and it can flood. Usually, there is a tab on the float to make this adjustment. Just make sure you don't force the needle against its seat when making the adjustment. You want the float to close the needle fully when the bowl is just full..

Thanks for the advice, sounds like that is the problem. Will try and pull it apart this weekend and give it a shot.
