Is it me getting older that the lights on law enforcement vehicles getting brighter? or are they getting too bright?

On many of the TV shows of police cars getting hit at night makes me wonder. Could it be the brighter lights is causing people under the influence to be drawn to them like a bug is to a light? I think so... I know they blind me at night when I have to drive by them.

Could be both as we age things just don't work right anymore it sucks but it beats the hell out of the alternative.

Most of them have changed to led or hid lights both are much brighter.

Yeah, the leds are real eyeburners. I remember the first time I had led brake lights light up in front of me at night. I said "That sucks." Or words to that effect.

Anyway, the cops are sporting those cool, low profile light bars with multiple led elements in red, yellow and blue, controlled by a processor that can dial up hundreds of different, seizure-inducing sequences. Makes you miss the old bubble gum machine.
