just picked up a british seagull, 1.5 hp, so the seller thought. how can i date and identify this motor. the only markings i can find are an "f" with 33409 under it.
lol....it is a heavy smoker.....and it eats spark plugs??? thanks for the info fucawi, it has helped out somewhat. ( i work with litres so the mixing thing is super easy!) now if i could only figure why this thing kills plugs like no tomorrow???
Wild guess: probably that smoker engine will work ok placed on boat's transom at wot, and not at idle spped placed on a barrel, probably that high 10:1 ratio compared to a modern engine 50:1 ratio, is shorting plug real fast.
