Broke my freakin little toe

K, was walking and stupid shoe on the floor caught my little toe and crack........now its pointed off to side and hurts quite a bit........Im guessing there aint alot I can do

I broke the one next to my big toe a few years ago. I taped it to the toe next to it, but beyond that I think it has to heal on its own.

Well at least it has provided for some great laughs for my family...........:devil:......whats up with....I remember hearing you just gotta let it heal on its own.......Toe will probably heal.....my pride well thats another story.

JB, they will do exactly what SBN said above. The little toe is too small to splint or cast. I know when I want in they just had me straighten it out and tape it to the next toe. Obviously ya gotta stay off of it if possible, but since it isnt cast or in a splint its near impossible to keep it set right. I can tell wich toe I broke by looking at it, but its not uncomfortable in a shoe by anymeans.

BUT you gotta get it checked and taped buy a real foot guy OR you wil really be in pain a LONG time

I can not begin to say how bad my week has sucked.....I really dont want to go to the doctor and more then that cant afford to.....been one thing after another here. Money is so tight that I really dont have any extra. I started this new bussiness and sold all my treasures to do so.......including my boat.....yes I know bad move, Apeck allready scolded me.......Im in the place where I need a few things to happen to recoup my investment and it hasnt happened as fast as I had hoped, ad to that a bill we didnt epect to have to pay and Grrrrr......hmmmm .....grrrr..... it looks like it went back into place ....sort of....its really swelled up so its hard to tell. I really dont have the money for the co-pay at the Doc till Fri.

Oh! About your toe, well if its one that you don't need this is the perfect time to get rid of it, you'll still have quite a few left.

Yes it was truley a very sad moment for me to watch it drive away............And Im pretty sure we all would get by with no pinky toes.......kind of like an appendix

At the least tape it to the next toe till friday because thats all ther going to do anyway unless its something very out of the norm

Go to your county hospital. Tell them your name is Jose Garcia, you are from Mexico and give them a false address. Not only will they fix it for free but they will give you a foot masage.:devil:

But in all seriousness spend the money to get it checked out. Tell your Dr. straight up that you do not have much money. They will then only do minimal x-rays. Ask yourself: How much time do I spend on my feet? How much do I spend for a good pair of shoes?We are talking minimal cost for taking the risk of having problems for the rest of your life.
I have seen hundreds of broken toes. One of them was even mine. Yes 90% of the time the patient is told "You have a broken toe we'll just tape it." The other 10% the toe needs to be set corectly such as if it is in more than 2 pieces or if the pieces need to be manipulated in order for the 2 pieces to line up correctly.

Did that to my little toe several years ago - the day I was leaving to drive to Florida. Not a fun drive. Went to Doc in a.m. and left for FL about 2 hours later. All he did was make sure it was semi-straight and taped it to the other toes, then gave a fancy pair of slippers to wear. My nephews liked to step on that foot every 10 minutes that whole trip!

Anyway, tape it securely, but not so tight as to cut off circulation, to the other toe and move on. Pray for relief of the pain and keep all children under the age of 10 away from your feet.

Mike, if you handle this wrong you could regret it forever.

Medical advice is for qualified physicians to give, not we laymen.

You don't KNOW that it is broken. It could have merely been severely dislocated. Either way, you are at risk of a permanent minor disability. Bite the bullet and go to the ER. The consequences of a late bill payment are temporary at worst.

Well I taped it up, was pretty bruised and swelled up quite a bit last night. I appretaite the advice guys and JBs was wise advice but today swelling is down and not as much pain it has moved back into place and I hope we are ok here. Im pretty sure if having the broken toe "fixed" would cost too much that having to stop the bleeding from self amputated toe would have probably been more, though I agree I cant figure out the reason we even have little toe's except to give my family great pleasure when I break mine. :^

I do beleive it was only dislocated as I can fully walk on it again. It did turn a bright purple/green/yellow and still looks a little funny though.
