Broke the gear locking brake on the winch!

We broke the gear locking brake on the wench today! We had to tie the winch up and hope the transom staps held on the way home...thankfully they did.

Is that a piece I can replace myself?

It depends on the model but I know most Fultons have kits to rebuild them.

It is a Fulton, it has the characters T2605 on it.

at 10 bucks each...Buy two and carry a spare. The field repair is worth the piece of mind on the way home.

That little spring can be a bugger to decipher which way it goes on. It helps if the old one is still on. I had to look at another winch to figure it out.
