I just bought a 1978 Ebbtide Captiva that I'm restoring. The boarding ladder is basically toast. I'd like to replace it, but I can't for the life of me find a suitable replacement. The ladder was mounted on top of the stern on the port side, with brackets that the ends of the curved poles slid into and were secured with screws. I really want to avoid drilling more holes in the boat if I can, but the main objective is getting a workable ladder. Otherwise, we can't swim and then get back into the boat. Can anyone suggest some solutions to this problem? Thanks in advance.

Scubalady, I just saw where you posted in response to a similar problem I have with my ladder. The moderator closed it because I didn't respond to it again. I have searched in vain to find a suitable ladder for my 86 Aerocraft Malibu. I may have to see if I can get a metal shop to remake it for me.

Is there something wrong with the existing ladder parts that makes it impossible to fabricate replacement parts to make it work?
