While mounting my piston rods from my tilt and trim, I ended up snapping one of the bolts that attaches the piston rod to the lift bracket,I thought that I would be able to drill it out and use a extractor to get it out but it hardly makes a mark when I try to drill it, assuming that its stainless and it may be more of a project then I thought. Im looking for any suggestions on what to do. I am looking to possibly get that broken thread out and if thats not possible I would like to find a lift bracket and new bolt to get it working and be done with it, please help!!
E40TTLCCS 40 hp evinrude, 0123726 is the part# for the lift bracket and 0122534 is the # for the upper pivot screw

Get a titanium drill bit and hope that your easyout doesn't break. I assume that there is no threads sticking out that you might be able to grab with a vise grip. Soak it overnight or a couple of days with PB blaster or a good penetrating oil.

If you go with the titanium drill bit and easy out, try heating up the casting, not the bolt, with a torch as well, the expansion may help a bit

When you drill it make sure you drill it as thin walled as posible, this will keep the extracor from braking. Also if you cant drill into it you will have to heat it first then rapid cool with water, then drill out, let cool then extract.
